The Positive Impacts of Massachusetts Cannabis: How Our Community Raised Nearly $29k for L’Arche Boston North

At CNA Stores, we’ve always believed that the positive impact of cannabis should be felt far beyond our storefronts. To us, being a cannabis company that supports community isn’t just a mission statement; it’s a daily practice and a core pillar of our identity. We are proud residents of Massachusetts, and our hearts belong to the streets of Amesbury and Haverhill. It is an immense privilege to raise our families here and to work alongside neighbors who value the “safety nets” that protect our most vulnerable residents.

This month, that community spirit reached a historic new milestone. We are incredibly moved and humbled to announce our largest collection to date: $28,878.51, raised entirely by our amazing customers for L’Arche Boston North.

Understanding the Positive Impacts of Massachusetts Cannabis

When people discuss the Impacts of Massachusetts Cannabis, they often focus on tax revenue or job growth. While those are important, the true “heart” of the industry is found in the local impact plans that empower organizations like L’Arche. Through the generosity of our customers, we are seeing a shift where a cannabis company that supports community can act as a bridge between high-quality products and meaningful social change. These Impacts of Massachusetts Cannabis go directly toward strengthening the social fabric of our local towns.

The funds raised this month demonstrate the positive impacts of Massachusetts cannabis by ensuring that adults with intellectual disabilities in our area have a genuine place to belong. In the United States, approximately 6.5 million people live with an intellectual disability. Too often, these individuals are pushed to the margins, facing “bleak” futures on waitlists for services or in state-run institutions. In Massachusetts specifically, hundreds remain in state-run facilities, waiting for the chance to live within a supportive neighborhood environment. By supporting these individuals, we see the tangible, human-centric Impacts of Massachusetts Cannabis.

Why L’Arche Matters to Our Neighborhoods

L’Arche flips the script on isolation. They create a world that welcomes difference and celebrates the unique gifts of all people. Their philosophy is simple yet profound: belonging is a deep, fundamental human need. When we exclude those with intellectual disabilities, we remain apart and divided, and their unique gifts remain hidden.

Because of CNA customers supporting L’Arche and driving the positive impacts of Massachusetts cannabis:

  • Genuine Belonging: L’Arche can continue to create spaces where people with and without intellectual disabilities live, work, and grow together as peers.

  • Vibrant Neighborhoods: More people with disabilities are becoming integrated into their neighborhoods, making our communities in Amesbury and Haverhill richer and more diverse.

  • Meaningful Purpose: Residents are empowered to find fulfilling roles at local businesses or volunteer at animal shelters, food pantries, and nursing homes—giving back to the community that supports them. This is one of the most lasting Impacts of Massachusetts Cannabis.

A Cannabis Company That Supports Community and Connection

The true reward of this collection wasn’t the final number on the check—it was the human connection. We recently had the honor of receiving several special thank-you letters from the residents at L’Arche. We also received more than a few hugs that would melt even the coldest of hearts.

These interactions serve as a beautiful reminder of the positive impact of cannabis culture when it is rooted in local activism. When you support a cannabis company that supports community, you aren’t just a customer; you are a partner in a movement. You are helping to ensure that the Impacts of Massachusetts Cannabis result in no one in our corner of the state being left behind or forgotten.

Thank You for Being the Change

To our customers: you have shown that the cannabis community is one of the most compassionate and dedicated groups in the state. You recognized a need and stepped up to meet it with open hands, proving that the positive impacts of Massachusetts cannabis are driven by people, not just products. You have helped ensure that the “hidden gifts” of our neighbors with intellectual disabilities are brought into the light.

We are honored to be your local dispensary, but we are even more honored to be your neighbors in this incredible journey of giving.
