If you’ve spent any time around CNA Stores, you know that giving back isn’t a box we check—it’s a core part of who we are. It lives in our mission, our customer base, and the incredible community we serve. Every month, we’re reminded just how generous, compassionate, and deeply invested our customers are in making the world around them a little better. September was no exception.
In September, we had the honor of spotlighting Lucy’s Love Bus—a Amesbury Massachusetts-based nonprofit whose mission speaks directly to the heart. Founded in memory of Lucy Grogan, a brave and bright 8-year-old who was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2006, this organization does something truly beautiful: it helps kids living with cancer feel better right now.
During her treatments, Lucy experienced the healing power of therapies like massage, art, acupuncture, and even therapeutic horseback riding. What troubled her most wasn’t her illness—it was the fact that many of her friends couldn’t access the same care because insurance didn’t cover it. Before she passed, Lucy made her mother promise to help other kids the way she’d been helped. And so, Lucy’s Love Bus was born.
Today, LLB provides free integrative therapies to children with cancer across the region—supporting families in hospitals, at home, and in hospice. And with the help of our CNA family of customers in Amesbury, Haverhill, and beyond, that mission continues to thrive.
We’re thrilled to share that our customers helped raise $22,454.50 in September for Lucy’s Love Bus. That’s not just money—it’s music lessons, art therapy sessions, and comforting moments during incredibly tough times. And this was our third campaign supporting LLB—we’re honored to stand with them again and again.
For October, we’ve turned our attention to a cause that hits especially close to home for many of us at CNA, including our Director of Business Development & Community Outreach, Scott Winters. Emmaus, located right in Haverhill, MA, has been serving individuals and families facing homelessness since 1985.
Emmaus doesn’t just provide shelter—they offer hope, stability, and a path forward for people who have nowhere else to turn. Since its founding, the organization has helped over 40,000 women, men, and children move from crisis to self-sufficiency.
A few facts that show the depth of their impact:
These are not just statistics—they are neighbors, friends, and fellow human beings who deserve dignity, care, and a chance to rebuild.
When you shop at CNA Stores, you’re not just choosing high-quality cannabis products—you’re stepping into a culture of compassion and community. Our monthly charity jar program is a living testament to the incredible generosity of our customers, who have helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years for causes rooted right here in Massachusetts.
And it’s not just the customers. At year’s end, CNA matches those donations back to our staff, reinforcing a cycle of giving that ensures no one is left out of the good we’re building together.
Because we believe cannabis culture isn’t just about feeling good—it’s about doing good.
From all of us at CNA, thank you for proving time and time again that this community is built on more than transactions. It’s built on trust, care, and the belief that together, we can create lasting change. More of our Built to Serve Mission here.
